Buckinghamshire BS adds telephone BDM to team

Buckinghamshire Building Society has added Georgia Smith, a telephone business development manager (BDM), to its intermediary team.

As a telephone BDM, Smith will be the first point of contact for brokers and offer guidance on the mutual’s extensive product range.

She will help with applications, give up-to-date product insights and work closely with field-based BDMs to maintain strong relationships and ensure a “seamless experience” for the society’s broker partners.

Smith joins from Hinckley & Rugby Building Society, where she has worked since 2015. She initially joined as a customer assistant and then worked her way up to telephone BDM.

The lender said that, during her time at Hinckley & Rugby Building Society, Smith had developed her “skills in sales management, broker communication, and business development”, making her a “valuable asset” to Buckinghamshire Building Society.

Claire Askham, head of mortgage sales at Buckinghamshire Building Society, said: “We’re proud to welcome Georgia to our growing intermediary team. Her experience and enthusiasm will be a fantastic asset, and we know she’ll make a real difference to the brokers we work with.

“At Buckinghamshire Building Society, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional support, and bringing in top industry talent like Georgia helps us continue delivering the personalised service our brokers rely on.”

Smith added: “I’m passionate about building strong relationships and helping brokers find the right solutions, so I’m really looking forward to joining Claire and the rest of the team at Buckinghamshire Building Society.

“They genuinely value broker relationships, and with my experience working in the intermediary market, I understand the challenges they face. I’m keen to offer the support and guidance they need to improve their experience and place more business with us.”

In January, the lender entered the limited company buy-to-let (BTL) space.
