Top 3 Strikers Chelsea Should Sign in Summer 2025 | Transfer Targets

Despite a slow start and rollercoaster season, Chelsea still achieved their bare minimum and qualified for the Champions League under Enzo Maresca. With the top-tier tournament coming up in the 2025/26 season, having a quality offence will be one of the major goals during the summer transfer window.

Despite a plethora of transfers under Todd Boehly’s leadership, the club seem to be lacking a proper striker, who will be reliable and score frequently. In the following article, we will look at three potential forwards who can significantly bolster Chelsea’s front.

Who Are Potential Candidates?

Currently, Nico Jackson is considered Chelsea’s primary centre-forward. However, the Senegalese player has poor stats. In two seasons in the Premier League, he has managed to amass 24 goals in 65 appearances, which is far from ideal.

While Cole Palmer was a key star this year, the Englishman’s productivity also dropped throughout the campaign. It is clear that no striker in the current squad purely focuses primarily on scoring goals. I have identified the potential candidates that the Blues’ management is likely to focus on.

Victor Osimhen

Explosive, proven in the Champions League and physically dominant, Victor Osimhen was one of the main architects of Napoli’s championship season in 2022/23. However, the Nigerian landed in a row with the club and was loaned to Galatasaray.

In Turkey, the Nigerian scored 25 times. His pace, strength and eye for a goal are what Chelsea need right now. I recall that in Napoli, he was excellent in terms of keeping the ball and creating numerous chances for his teammates as well.

If the Blues manage to sign him, it would be a perfect addition, given his stamina, work rate, and willingness to press opponents. I think in an organized system, he should be able to score at least 20 goals in the Premier League.

Benjamin Šeško

Young, clinical, and renowned for his ability to win in aerial duels, Benjamin Šeško is also on Chelsea’s radar. At age 21, the Slovenian was an integral part of Leipzig in the 2024/25 campaign, scoring 13 goals in 33 matches.

He is not a typical forward, waiting for his chances to come from his teammates. Šeško can dribble well, accelerate and what’s most important – he converts his chances effectively, something Nico Jackson has lacked so far.

The only obstacle is that he has a contract running till 2029 and the transfer fee will be hefty. Whether Todd Boehly is ready to splash out for the youngster is still in question.

Victor Boniface

Known for his technical abilities, goal-scoring prowess and versatility, Victor Boniface would ideally fit in Chelsea’s system. When Leverkusen went on an unbeaten run during the 2023/24 season in the German Bundesliga, the Nigerian was simply phenomenal, scoring 14 times and assisting 8 in 23 appearances.

The stats don’t even fully show the impact he had during that period. I recall that he often scored the first goals when his club needed them the most, and was also superb in defence.

After a season that was not as successful as the previous one, and Xabi Alonso mostly relying on Patrik Schick, he might contemplate leaving the club. And the Premier League looks like one of the possible destinations.

The Verdict: Who Fits Best?

With the right striker leading the line, Chelsea might finally turn attacking promise into a battle for the trophy. All three players mentioned above have their pros and cons. If Enzo Maresca wants to build a young team, then Šeško looks the most obvious option.

Regarding Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface, I think that the former is more energetic, and that’s what Chelsea need right now. The former Napoli striker can create goals out of nowhere and this is what the Blues will need a lot next season.
