TSB has appointed Craig Calder as its secured lending director, with mortgage distribution director Roland McCormack and products director Ian Ramsden set to leave the business, Mortgage Solutions understands.
Calder joins from Virgin Money, where he has been the head of secured lending for around two years. Before that, he was the director of mortgage products at Barclays for around a decade.
He has also held senior roles at Royal Bank of Scotland and Ulster Bank, where he worked between 2006 and 2013.
At TSB, he will oversee the design and delivery of mortgages, general insurance and mortgage distribution.
The appointment comes as McCormack leaves the business to pursue new opportunities and Ramsden retires.
McCormack joined TSB in 2014 to set up its intermediary business, launching it in 2015. The business is now one of the top 10 largest intermediary lenders in the UK. He also manages its branch and telephony mortgage channels.

Prior to joining TSB, McCormack was the managing director of Connell Asset Management and LPA Receivers for around a year. Before that, he was the director of Safe Home Income Plans for around three years.
He spent around 15 years of his career at Bank of Ireland, joining as trainee business development manager (BDM) in 1994 and then becoming the managing director in 2001. McCormack was also the managing director of Bristol & West Mortgages, which was bought by Bank of Ireland in 1997 and closed to new customers in 2009.
Ramsden has spent over 12 years at TSB, initially joining as the director of mortgages, general insurance and protection and then taking on the role of product director for borrowing and insurance. He was made product director in 2022.
Prior to TSB, he spent eight years at Lloyds Banking Group, most recently as the director of mortgage acquisition. He has also held roles at Sainsbury’s, HBOS and Bank of Scotland.
It is understood that Beverley Bradford, currently the head of mortgage intermediaries, will move into an expanded role of head of mortgage distribution, in which she will manage key national accounts and oversee the distribution team.
Adam Lishamn, TSB’s customer banking director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Craig to TSB and are confident that his excellent industry experience will further strengthen TSB’s focus on growing our support for customers.”
